The number (and cost) of broken springs certainly seems to have increased in the past few months. It only takes one rough piece of track somewhere to break them...

The scary bit is when it takes longer and departure time has come and gone. There's a train load of passengers who want to know what happens next !
If the train service is one where you can "pinch" an the engine off the incoming train to become the engine for the next departure it is possible to maintain the service with one less engine for a time - up to the point where there is a departure but no incoming train.
