I can assure you that the SVR Carriage restoration and maintenance people say that the last thing they would want are any mark 2 coaches on the railway!

Thanks for sharing those images. Looked to be plenty of visitors around, and no skimping on the number of carriages in most of the rakes.

The two tone green deltic D9009 Alycidon will look better on the maroon LMS coaches. Pity the SVR havenít got any mark 2F coaches for the blue deltic 55002.

2Cs, steam heat, opening windows and dual braked Smile

But none of the diesels have steam heating fitted IIRC, or do some of visitors have steam heat?

No, none of ours have steam heat.

I liked the early Mk2s. It was an idle thought, that as they were around from circa 1965, one can claim a degree of authenticity with the late-steam era. If you had them they could be hauled by steam as well, for which their steam heat and dual brakes would be useful.

I'm not suggesting it *should* happen by the way

The BR Mk2s are of a monocoque construction? I.e. no frame as such and thus far far harder to maintain structural integrity when the metal moth descends.

Langley Green, the convoy heads away from the SVR. Think I'll rename the Dark Side to the "bowling alley!"

I did get some other shots though, so mustn't grumble (well, no more than usual!)
