Carriage & Wagon Department
The SVR Carriage & Wagon department is one of the best in the heritage railway movement, maintaining the SVRís magnificent, historic fleet of carriages. In order that this position is maintained, department staff from Bewdley and Kidderminster are working on a two year plan for the future growth of the department.
The project will address concerns over the maintenance backlog, current workshop facilities, tooling requirements, staff skills and structure, integration of volunteers and future contract work.
Using Perspectiv, who have been closely involved with the project to improve efficiency at Bridgnorth MPD, the plan will be created by Nigel Hanson, Hugh McQuade and Colin Astbury.
If you wish to find out more about the process, please contact any of the above named C&W staff members.
