Like the video Sharpo. Is this the one that sat in the siding at Highley and where was it going to? I thought they could travel on the main line?

Thanks for comment.

73202 is the one at Highley. No idea where 73309 was going.

The link below shows some recent sightings of it:-

I'm not a registered user of that site, so only able to see the same as you. Check again in a few weeks & there might be more sightings of it at another railway.

Strange that there is one machine on the SVR yet another one is brought in? I dont understand what is happening but to send one machine by road must be costing a heck of a lot. I guess a grand a journey each way! Be nice to have get some more gen on this.

Not one of our tampers. This must have come in on the mainline link, needing repair or movement further afield than paths allow. Of the resident machines in Highley sidings, one is a plainline tamper only. The blue/white Balfour tamper is based on a lorry trailer( if you look closely enough) which doesn't require a low-loader for road movement and is used for switch/crossing work.

Thanks Brent that explains the HGV move. Do you know why 73309 was hired in as the SVR has 73202 (Sharpo's info) and me assuming they do the same type of tamping.

Was it anything to do with the apprentices/trainees in the portacabins at the end of the car park?

I am guessing that 73202 was broken.
