From the SVR web site:

Engine House Exhibitions in 2017

Following on from the success of 'Terence Cuneo - The Man and His Mouse', and 'Our First 50 Years' exhibitions at The Engine House, we thought it was time for a change!

February 18th will see the launch of three all-new exhibitions in The Engine House:

• The Art of the Railway Poster – telling the story of how the ‘big four’ railway companies looked for ways of promoting travel by train to the general public, showcasing some beautiful original posters of the era.

• 2007 Storm Damage – 10 Years on – we look back at the damage inflicted on the Severn Valley Railway by a freak weather event in the Summer of 2007. The exhibition looks at the damage and the extensive work and funding involved to rebuild our wonderful railway.

• Signs of the Times - a fascinating display of London Underground and Great Western Railway signs, courtesy of London Transport Museum and Kidderminster Railway Museum.

The exhibitions will feature in The Engine House until the end of 2017.

We'll see you there...

From the SVR web site:

Half-term family fun at The Engine House!
February 18th - 26th

Trains & Trams

We welcome back the Manchester Model Tramway group who will be displaying and operating their superb model tramway layout at the Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley.

Come along and 'have-a-go' at operating the miniature trams (subject to availability) during February half-term! The models trams are built to a scale of 5/8 inch to a foot with a gauge of 27/16 inch, which is unique to the group and has historical origins. The tramway was hand-built by members, past and present and is a magnificent sight to behold.

A fun themed quiz for the children will be available at The Engine House, alongside the interactive exhibits and outdoor play area.
