There's a colour photograph of the gentleman sitting in the cab of the machine, in his latest book, "A Life on the Lines." It is difficult to make out what colour it is, it is just dark. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say it's that ghastly dark BR blue they were painted, bearing in mind the photo is taken in 1988.

BR green with crest and wasp stripes works best on these, bearing in mind the general period of the Railway...

Has anyone seen my coat?

Could you grab mine whilst you're at it, I completely agree with you!

Passing on the train today, I noticed that 09012 is now in BR green, still with the name.

Dick Hardy was used some shunting today, though not all the moves so possibly not fully finished. In BR green without crest or numbers but with name.

09012 was carrying the earlier number D4100 today. Photo added to the SVR Wiki.

Anyone know if this is a 'permanent' change, and if so should the Wiki and the SVR website reflect it?

This loco doesn't seem to get mentioned very often but it was filmed shunting the stock after D9551 completed a loaded test run at Kidderminster today.
