The local intelligence on leaflet status is valuable information for the railway and should be commended by those in charge. Tell me, is action taken to restock the reported empty display racks?

Still no timetable leaflets in the Co-oP supermarket in Hereford, only the non-timetable ones, as mentioned before.

Rotating leaflet rack appears to be run by "Leaflets Galore", who have an 01452 tel. number .

Edit: I would be happy to restock any tourist info racks in Hereford, However the one mentioned here specifically says that unauthorised filling of racks is not permitted.

Pete Cherry is monitoring this thread and relaying the information on. See the first post on this page, http://forum.svra.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3403&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

Graham, thanks for the info. Guess I should have read the whole topic from the start! I am learning.

To recap the reports do get fedback to the SVR which is good news.

Do we know what happens after that? Is an empty rack refilled or left empty? If so how does the process work?

In the marketing article (SVR News, Spring 2016, page 25) there is mention of considerable focus on volunteer leaflet distribution in days of olde. It then goes on to mention today there are also new ways of publicising the railway. My perception of the article is that there is less emphasis on leaflet distribution compared to other modern media methods.

I would be interested to find out what value the SVR places on the timetable leaflets being available to the public across a wide geographic area.

Regards
Reg.

Further to my post above, I noticed a leaflet rack in the main Tesco supermarket in Hereford this morning. Same people, "Leaflets Galore".
No SVR leaflets of any kind present. Other steam railways in the Midlands were represented.
I hope someone who has a handle on these matters reads the posts on this thread. It provides useful intelligence.

Further to the above, my local Wyevale Garden Centre tourist leaflet rack only has the non-timetable brochure ( but it is the 2016 version).

Different provider than as mentioned above. They have "wales" in their internet address, curiously every time I try and find them via Google, Internet Explorer stops working. Confused

I went to Chester today and saw at CTR station the timetable leaflet for the SVR. I'm sure there are leaflets further afield.

At Milton Keynes railway station in the main ticket hall there were none to be seen but there was a supply of leaflets for the Battlefield Line at Shackerstone.

This does not appear to be a popular discussion subject which I do find a little puzzling as paper based publicity must surely still be of value?

So to my first(!) observation for 2017 (we are more than half way through the year!). Yesterday there were plenty of SVR timetable leaflets at Birmingham Snow Hill station which I believe is thanks to the London Midland train operator. Well done to them.
