The Wagon Department now has a web site and a Facebook page which is visible to anyone.

They're both a bit short on content at the moment. I'm gradually adding photos and text and I'll try to get a few other people involved as contributors as well.
With them both being public, it makes it easier to share the photos on other sites, so I'll try to keep this forum and Nat Pres more frequently updated now.

Thumbs up for the wixsite, much more appealing than the other - which keeps wanting me to log in.

A couple of carriages had to be moved at Bewdley last week. Due to the track layout, anything coming out of the carriage paint shop has to go through the goods shed, so we took the opportunity to have some of our stuff moved at the same time.
Southern brake van 55577 is now outside the goods shed, GWR Conflat 39860 is also outside the goods shed on the other road, as is SE&CR Open 12522.

The brake van is almost finished. Now it's outside, there's a bit more room to fit the running boards.

Work has started on the SE&CR wagon. It should progress a bit quicker now that it is closer to the goods shed.

The Conflat is also not far off being finished.

Today's jobs included making new lashing hooks for the Conflat.

What's the status on the wagons website please? I thought the plan might be to load them there with a link on here?

Thanks

I keep taking the easy option of just posting updates on Facebook. Today, I thought it was about time I updated this thread, so I went to the next stage and uploaded a few photos to a photo hosting site so I could post them here.
I've been sent some text on the Wagon Review Group (we really need a catchier name) for the web site and permission to use a couple of drawings of the proposed shed, so I will put those on there soon along with a few other updates.
I've also registered http://www.svrwagons.uk/ and got it hosted on GoDaddy along with svrwiki, so we can do away with the wix adverts on the free version, but it uses a different version of Wordpress which seems a lot more complicated to me, so I haven't got very far with that.
Meanwhile, the "On this day" feature on svrwiki still isn't working properly, it gets stuck on the last day that the page was edited, so I'm trying to remember to manually edit the page every morning to keep it up to date, until I can learn how to create a bot to do it automatically. If only computers were as easy to fix as goods wagons.

Anyway, back to the wagon news, nothing's been finalised yet, but the Junior Club will probably take on GWR 80990 Cylindrical Tank Wagon as their own project. This means that if they have got nothing specific arranged anywhere else on the railway, they will always have something to do at Bewdley.

The Southern Brake Van is completed and ready for the gala.

The final paint touching up was still going on after it had been moved on to the running lines, so I didn't get a chance to photograph it all finished without a fence in the way. No doubt some better photos will appear after the gala.

I'll try to keep a monthly update going on the new web site.
I've put a few pictures for September and October on there so far.
