Christmas Carol Trains
Sing along or just soak up the festive atmosphere as we get Christmas off to a traditional start with an evening of carols & festive music.

Make sure your vocal chords are warmed up as you join our scenic diesel rail-car on a trip from Kidderminster to The Engine House, our Visitor Centre at Highley.

Starting your journey at Kidderminster, the concourse will be filled with the sounds of Christmases gone by before you board the Carol Train.

On your journey, the train will stop at Arley where carols will be sung. Then it's back on the train for the journey to the Visitor Centre at Highley.

At Highley you must leave the train for the short walk (approximately 150 yards) to The Engine House, our Visitor Centre, where the choir will again lead the singing and a warming glass of punch and a mince pie will be served to passengers.

Christmas Carol Trains operate on: December 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd.

A pity that the one on December 2nd couldn't be organised to coincide with the Bewdley Christmas Lights switch on.

In fact I feel that there is a missed oportunity here. Speaking from experience, Bewdley is absolutely PACKED on the Christmas lights swtich-on day - and rightly so; it's wonderful, with it's Victorian theme and 'market stalls', as well as the wonderful switch-on event itself. Parking is, however, a nightmare - yes, they operate a park-and-ride from a nearby school but to be honest, this has seemed overwhelmed by the number of people using it in recent years.

I can't help but feel that a DMU shuttle to and from Bewdley for this event would prove useful. I, for one, would love to be able to leave my car at Kidderminster General for a ride in the nice, warm, DMU to Bewdley. Would be MUCH nicer than playing car dodgems in a dark school playground-come makeshift car park.
