Web Admin note: Thread title changed from ‘813 on tour’ to ‘SVR locomotives on tour’ to avoid starting a duplicate thread on 813.
Also refer to

[PJ November 2017]

Where has 813 gone? Also I note SVR live used to have a section of where resident locos are going when they are on tour, but I can't see any links.

I'm not aware 813 has gone anywhere, it was in use this weekend and nothing is shown on the SVR webpage.

SVR Locos on tour is listed in the Archive news (last updated 9th October). The direct page link is http://www.svrlive.com/svr-locomotives-on-tour

I cleared out all but October's entries the other day. The most detailed listing of SVR-based locomotives visiting other events can be found on the Wiki at https://www.svrwiki.com/SVR-based_locomotives_visiting_other_events

39 this year by my count

I think it's at the West Somerset Railway, although I can't find confirmation of that anywhere.
I've asked for a list of all upcoming hirings, when I get it, I'll post it here.

We've got a list of SVR-based locomotives that have visited past events at https://www.svrwiki.com/SVR-based_locomotives_visiting_other_events
I'll add a Future Events section as I hear of them.

Not sure of the need for a Future Events? Normally we just add it to the list but with the future date

813 is going to the KESR to assist with their Santas according to a posting on the National Preservation Forum.

It seems odd there isn't an official announcement just relying on repeating stories from Steam Railway, surely SVR management/loco owners should be mentioning it?

Yes.

In answer to a similar point:

Yes, SVRLive is an official website of the SVR

In this case I could have first sought confirmation by the railway before adding it, but the news was out there and I took the view the announcement was sufficiently authoratitive to run with it. A judgement, but I hope not the wrong one.

To anser your general point, I publish things that people send me. A bugbear is when things are released before members are told. I do remind the railway of the need to pass me news items and that how failure to do so looks. This is a live issue.
