Looking back to 2016:

Everything now sold out! -- Santa Specials, Heralds, meals etc!!

A shame we didn't quite manage to sell out the last 2 Santa Special trains on Saturday and Sunday last weekend, but not too significant in the overall scheme of things!

Looking at the update this morning the last four trains on Sunday were green with three amber. So not quite as good as 2016 but with an extra day later in the month some may have booked for then instead.

Sales going ok, but as usual, many people still booking the trains nearest to Christmas -- as an example, there are only 8 tickets left for the 24th; an hour ago it was 22 !

We nearly always have the problem of not selling out on the days furthest away from Christmas; people ring on the 15th or so to try to buy tickets, when all remaining ones are sold, and all we would be able to say is for them to get in their time machine, and come the previous weekend!!

The idea of different prices for each day is to encourage people to book for the first weekend while they still can, but it doesn't always work sufficiently; maybe a bigger fare difference next year -- we will need to see about this!

About 95% of seats for remaining trains now sold -- but whether we'll sell out the 9th and 10th we'll have to see. Last 2 trains on the 9th in particular are a bit slow to sell.

We've tried pushing these on the website as "Why not come for the 'Twilight Trains' at 3.30 & 4.00 and experience the magic of Santa's grotto, our stations' festive lights and a steam train journey as it gets dark!?" --- some railways charge extra for these trains!!

All tickets now sold for the Santa Specials on the last 2 weekends -- 16/17 and 23/24. Last ones went yesterday and today.
Only tickets left now are for the 3.30 and 4.00 on 9th, and 4.00 on 10th. Over 100 left on each of these -- selling gradually, but hopefully now that there's nothing else left, they'll start to go a bit faster!!
Still plenty left for some Santa Heralds, but we've still got 2 weeks to sell these.

Good to see she mentioned the other volunteers rather than the usual plea for help with the words especially at Arley.
