I'm sure somebody will know why 5164 was on this track at Arley instead of the "main" as it headed towards Bewdley. I can't remember! It's another one of those photos that never made it to my gallery, probably many thousands of them over the years - there isn't the time to do everything.

Frozen points meant that the trains that day were crossing at Hampton Loade and Bewdley.

Thanks for that Robert. Good to get feedback on this unusual event at Arley, it also means somebody is checking on the daily photos - so I'm not wasting my time!!

Seriously though, I enjoy "playing" with my photos and videos - which is why I do things like this.

Nobody knows what the next photo will be, including me! Going through the dates does bring up "forgotten" photos, I don't think this ever made it to my gallery, but here it is, Permaquip 68803. Forgot to say, at Bewdley.

I assume it was hired to carry people up to Bewdley Tunnel where the track relaying had been in progress that winter?

Cheers Graham! I avoided replying during the day so as not to purposely bump up the views, but it obviously is attracting some interest, and as I type this I see Robin has got an early one in. So for anybody clocking in later there are 2 photos.

February 13th 2012. Monday

A Monday in February, must've been half-term week. I've got a much better shot of the loco taken from the museum side, but that would be an "ordinary" shot. This view shows less of the loco but you can see the station name is showing as Folkestone as it was being used as a location for filming. Can't remember the name of the film though. It's another photo that never made it to my gallery, but fits in well with this topic which tries to show the Railway in a different way and not just another "great shot of a loco".

Thanks Patrick, it's all out there if I'd thought a bit more and did a search or two - but it was this side of midnight & I was tired....

February 14th 2009. Saturday

A steam loco was unavailable for some reason and a diesel was required to haul the train, it appeared behind D8188 carrying a "Thunderbird 1" headboard. Reminds me of the Class 57/3s rescuing the failed Virgin trains, which I had seen many times in the past. I like that sort of humour, also remember many years ago when steam had to rescue the SVR Westerns, and carrying a "Western Replacement" headboard. The photo was taken at my "usual" station, Arley.

February 14th 2015 Saturday

2857, 43106 and 1501 were the locos in use on the day. I took a couple of photos for use on the SVR Wiki, one of the Bundy Clock at Kidderminster and this one of Highley's Wickham Trolley.

February 15th 2007. Thursday

My photos taken on this day in 2007 were at Eardington and Highley, the one chosen shows The Engine House under construction.

February 16th 2005. Wednesday

E6006 at Bridgnorth in 2005. It looks as if I took more photos of rolling stock than locos, but the diesel was more unusual for me. Other photos at:-

Also, on Saturday in 2008, a photo at Highley, following flood repairs, including KC.

February 17th 2002. Sunday

More early digital photos from 2002, two of them this time, 813 & 6009 at Bridgnorth, then 600 at Hampton Loade with the Barry coach under restoration in the background.

February 18th 2010. Thursday

I took several photos at Bewdley on this date, probably better photos of trains as they were chimney first - but this one shows some work in progress on platform 1 as 46443 approaches. The other locos will probably be seen on many days in the future.

February 18th 2016 Thursday

Erlstoke Manor and 2857 were in use, but this was another day when non-loco photos made it onto the SVR Wiki, including wagons at Kidderminster Railway Museum in the early morning sun and Kidderminster Signal box in the late evening sun. Gallery of other Wiki photos
