50035 will now work the diesel diagram on Sunday 26th vice 50049. The loco had a test run earlier today and it's all good.

(Pete - website update please!)
"Diesel locomotive operating dates" was updated last night; The "Locos in use" one will include this once I receive the steam loco info for the week.

Looking at the previous post about the Deltic substituting, it seems to be the other way round today. I was expecting the Deltic but 50035 arrived at Arley lunchtime.

Well, the diesel running dates on the website said 50049, SVRonline says a 50, the weekly running on the website says 55019 while it was 50035 in the end...

So where do you look to get the accurate info?

SVRonline is often out of date as the week progresses, at least the website does get updated from time to time - but was obviously wrong on this occasion. Oh, I see it has now been changed.

Looking at Sunday, it might now be the 50 instead of the Western. I'll know what it is when it approaches Arley....

It's been 50049 on the roster for months, but equally it's been known that 50035 would substitute for almost as long......

I do wish somebody would inform the person that writes the "locos in use" page, otherwise that page is a waste of time.

so do I, but despite asking the relevant people, and them saying they'll let me know of changes, in practice they rarely do! If there are any changes to the locos in the coming week, I should be aware of what's going on, as I'm driving all week!

Ark Royal performed a loaded test run on Saturday morning (13th February 2016). During 2015 50035 had a few issues with generator regulation, which restricted it to partial power. Following further investigation we replaced part of the ETH generator regulator feedback loop (Z23).

We are pleased to advise that 50035 passed the test successfully.

I don't think I'm speaking out of turn

50035 was taken out of service at Norden (Swanage Railway gala) this afternoon due to a 'fuel leak on the high pressure pipe on B5 cylinder'. She was towed back by a Class 33 and volunteers have worked hard to fix the fault, so '35 can haul its trains tomorrow (Saturday)

No you're not Patrick. That's fine.

As you say the leak was between the pressurised fuel line and the injector on cylinder B5.

Thanks to the support of the Swanage Railway, their management and volunteers, who found us somewhere to work, and the support of our fellow preservationists on site: a fix was affected by our support team. After testing, the loco was declared fit for service again at 20.30 on the same day.

Ark Royal completed all its subsequent booked turns.

Particular thanks should go to Darryl Tebbs and Ade Holman who put in much of the effort.

The convoy returning from Swanage includes the Class 20s, are they being dropped off today as well?

It was just 66748 up the Dark Side - in pouring rain. So 20s left at Kidder then.
