Always black! In LMS days with red lining; the mixed traffic red / grey / cream lining in BR days.

The first Horwich Crabs (13000 - 13099, later 2700 - 2799) were originally red with the numbers on the tender sides, but all others, and later these 100, were also black.

Phew, thank goodness we have got that out of the way!

Presumably "livery" after an overhaul is decided by a democratic poll of the members. As indeed it should be.

Absolutely chock a block. Not just enthusiasts. Just goes to show people will turn out to a winter steam festival if the weather is fine.

I'm glad that it went well, but if the weather had been bad (like much of January), then the GCR could have been well out of pocket...

Well, I did hear about an engine arriving at kiddy last wednesday on a low-loader , I didn't see it as I was on a trip, but I did think the only engine that is away and is black is SM.

Could of been that returning. v Could have been that returning.

Perhaps it's time to brush the dust off the LTA?

I usually keep my thoughts to myself, but you said it for me.

Every time I see "of" instead of "have" I feel like pointing out the mistake, but all forums are the same these days with that being a common error. Perhaps it is just our language changing with time.

The more people see it, the more people accept that it is correct. Never mind.

Perhaps boldford, sharpo and I should start our own little club, with the inimitable Lynn Truss as our Honorary President!
