I'm reliably informed that '59 was the loco used to rescue 50026 this afternoon and is in fine fettle after her repair.

Tomorrow '59 is on an ECS move

What is more, unusually for the valley, it was a fully fitted brake

On Saturday 59 is on the guards training turn, running full line. Then it will be back to KR for two ghost trains trips.

Been a busy time for 59 lately, this week she will have had four days doing the drain clearing trains and has been outstationed at Bridgnorth.

Saw the 'Drain Train' on Tuesday morning just before it left Bridgnorth. Seemed rather odd seeing a road drain cleaning vehicle parked on a GW loriot with two oil tank wagons, (presumably filled with water) and a Midland brake van making up the train.

D8059 was seen at Highley today. apparently investigating if there's preheater sources at Highley, for the Eden Valley Aqueduct Works project, for which the heavy stuff is being moved by '59 and D3201 will do the lighter stuff.

Tomorrow '59 will do the post-Santa TPO move

You posted that a day late Patrick the search for preheater sources was yesterday and the TPO move today
Wink

Edit just noticed the time you posted it - I misread it as midday.

Perhaps we may also be told what the Eden Valley has to do with the SVR. Doesn't the Settle and Carlisle line follow that valley to the south of Carlisle? Very Happy

Sharpo, AIUI it was a recce yesterday to check the electrical supplies so that they can put on the internal heaters which help to keep out the damp etc when '59 is not in use.

Buffer - fair cop! Elan Valley.

I thought all the kit was going in via Bewdley? Given there's a big hole in the track at the Aqueduct now, there's no chance of moving anything South if needed.
