Every day I have a look for anything of interest in various forums and sites, and on the news page at:-

http://www.preserved-diesels.co.uk/news/index.htm

is a mention of 20059 coming to the Valley for completion of restoration. Not heard about that before. Supposedly arriving today.

That's good news, and guess would be a good partner (once it's operational) for 8188. But how long will it be staying, once it's operational?

And if run in multiple perhaps we could be radical and run them cab to cab. Rolling Eyes

Great news. Just wondering out of a matter of interests. Could both choppers run together over Victoria bridge? Will it be staying over for the diesel gala and be part of the svr fleet?

According to http://www.preserved-diesels.co.uk/engines/index_20.htm 20059 is owned by Somerset and Dorset Loco Company, as is resident 8188 (20188).

Curiouser and curiouser...Somerset and Dorset Loco Company also own 20177 at TYS as a "source of spares"

Took a few from the footpath, not the best place, but better than nothing. There are a couple of others which I will put in my gallery later.

5 photos here:-

http://www.sharpos-world.co.uk/cpg/thumbnails.php?album=573

Bit more room round the turntable now, almost room for a quarter roundhouse (for short locos)

Thanks for the photos of the turntable site. Clearing the embankment would appear to be part of phase 1 of the diesel shed project as per SVR News: "Re-align and/or relay sidings adjacent to Kidderminster Harriers Football Ground." (underway as a volunteer project)

I wonder if the westernmost siding is where the volunteer sleeping coaches will go, and presumably the diesel depot will then stand immediately towards the running lines.

Obvious comment, but siding space is/will be at a premium when the groundworks for the shed start, so maybe that means "out of season" work, so that the diesels can be moved to the station area while the work takes place? Maybe we will see a ground plan of the yard as soon as the positioning of the shed is finalised.

And now http://forum.svra.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1201&highlight= says there's the following, but I'm not sure if it is a visitor or resident:

Class 20 D8059 - undergoing restoration. Owned by Somerset and Dorset Loco Company.

Any info on the resident/visitor status of this loco?

Look forward to seeing it at the gala
