As I recall, Sidmouth's boiler was borrowed while Taw Valley's own boiler was away so that measurements could be taken for cladding etc.

Thank you for that information. I knew that Taw Valleys was away being worked on. Which is why we couldn't work it out.

Brian: I saw a signed copy of a Lynne Truss book in an Oxfam shop in Worcester recently, it was £15, should I have bought the book? Was it a sound investment?

I thought of you when I saw the book!

On the subject of boilers outside the Bridgnorth loco shed doors there is an inner fire box can anyone tell me what is off or for?

That is a spare firebox for Gordon. Not sure where it will be going though?

Sidmouth’s boiler – The boiler from West Country class no. 34010 Sidmouth has resided for some years at Bridgnorth where it was used as a template for the cladding of Taw Valley. The owners, Southern Locomotives Limited (owners of SVR-resident sister Battle of Britain class no. 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’) have in their February news update discussed various possible options for this engine (and its boiler). With TV nearing completion there is little need for Sidmouth’s boiler to remain at BH. I'm sure we've got loads of our own stuff we could store where it resides.
