It indeed did. Kidderminster was quite busy at around 4: AN1 in platform 2, the charter set for tomorrow in platform 1 plus the 08 shunting the C&W spares van, 5164 with the goods train in 1EL, and then D9009, D821 and D1062 in the exchange siding.

Richard Hargreaves‎ via Facebook Preserved Diesels 13 April

Quote:
D1062 leaving Bridgnorth yard with 1616 test run to Highley and return following a weeks work to de winterise the loco for the 2014 season. Still a few little things to sort out but the lads have worked really hard all week, and the polishers have done a top job too

Darren Shelmerdine ‎on Facebook Preserved Diesels today

Quote:
D1062 will once again be attending Tyseley for Tyre Turning. The WLA with the kind assistance of the DTG is please to announce that D1015 will be hauling D1062 from Kidderminster to Tyseley on Tuesday 22nd April and from Tyseley to Kidderminster on Friday 25th April. Timings to be confirmed and all events subject to availability.
This is a perfect opportunity to see a maroon Western hauling another on the Mainline a scene not seen for decades.

D1062 is back at the SVR. Saw it at Stourbridge Junction behind D1015 this morning then back up the Dark Side in pouring rain at Old Hill for D1015 this afternoon. Noticed D1015 had the number D1017 and name Western Warrior.

Sounded good approaching Stourbridge Junction!!

It's the nickname for the route via Old Hill. Mostly just the local trains come this way, all the express passenger & freights go via the Lickey - but occasionally there is something that goes "round the Dark Side".

D1015 on "The Devonian" from Tyseley to Paignton tomorrow is one of those trains that will be running round the Dark Side.

I'm given to believe there's also Midland v Western rivalries in there somewhere.

Here was me thinking about Pink Floyd & dark side of the moon. I bet someone can make some joke out of this.

Wonder how long we will have to wait to see D1062 working like this?

http://youtu.be/59djoXY-2W0

It's D1015 returning from Penzance with 12 on, working well up the Dark Side on June 28th. At 23.13 it really was dark!!
