Also now on the website is an appeal leaflet aimed at raising funding for the repair of 7802's boiler and completion of the funds current tender rebuild project for Bradley.

All contributions appreciated.

The current EMF newsletter suggests that the SVR is moving from a "pay for eventual overhaul" to a "pay for as used" policy for locos. If this provides sufficient funds for owning groups to have their locos overhauled at any works that can provide a quick turnround, it should go some way to overcoming the present shortage and keep the owners happy. Presumably the railway will ensure that the engines it finds most useful will have sufficient work to ensure the necessary funds have been accumulated to provide for a rapid overhaul when their tickets have run out.

If that is so, lets hope it doesn't run into the issues you see on other Heritage line forums where "are we getting enough mileage" seems to crop up.
Also how might that affect the small number of SVR-owned engines, which I think includes the Black 5 and Hagley Hall, both of which would be welcomed back.

7812 has had it's smokebox painted "gold" today in anticipation of the visit of an olympian at the weekend. It may also swap identities with a class mate...

As the nameplates are being swapped with 7802's, I think you can guess who it is!

Are we going to honour any of the other medalists?

Any suggestion for Usain Bolt?

GM Nick Ralls i/v just on BBC H&W news bulletin: 'Bradley' Manor (ie Erlestoke with nameplate) in gold smokebox, complete with 'sideburns' to greet local olympian at Kidderminster. It's to follow up on the olympic torch journey earlier on SVR.
