Out of interest, is 4566 being worked relatively lightly this year, or have I just been unlucky on the days I've visited.

1,119 miles by the end of April, per the SVR News, compared to 2,179 for 2857, 992 for Erlestoke, 1,960 for SKP and 2,643 for 43106.

Due to not being the largest locomotive in the world, 4566 will generally appear on things such as Diners, or on shorter trains (6 coaches) during the quiet times of the year.

4566 sounded a bit off beat today. I heard it approaching, thinking it was running slowly - but I was just hearing one of the 4 beats, not all 4, so it was 4 times faster than I expected.

A look back shows a boiler certification circa August 2006. Appreciating there are lots of things can happen, and 10 years doesn't mean 10 years anyway, is there a date yet at which she is expected to go out of ticket?

From UK Heritage Hub on FB

Quote:
...4566 will be returning to Llangollen to partake in the line's Spring Steam Gala over the weekend of 8th - 10th April 2016.
Having last visited the line in 1991 when then terminus of Glyndyfrdwy is now frequently used as a mid-line passing point, 4566's visit to Llangollen will be one of her final appearances away from the SVR one her present boiler ticket which expires next year.
Running in plain BR black livery, 4566 will match resident larger cousin 5199...

4566 operated a photocharter on 24 March for Matt Fielding Photo Charters in her 'weathered' look, as she has had a 'do not clean' instruction for some time. She operated with a single maroon autocoach W238 and in the afternoon was renumbered 4568 with Newton Abbot shedplates.

Bewdley cleaners had an early start on 25 March to return her to a pristine condition
