Well done to the Bewdley cleaners for smartening it back up again. I, or the vast majority of the public, do not like to see an engine left to get dirty. It just looks like nobody cares especially when it gets put on the front of a dining train (as it was a couple of weeks ago).

It looked superb when I saw it at Highley today!

A few images flying around on social media of 4566 at the Llangollen Railway for their Cambrian Steam Gala this weekend, but none public that I can link to I'm afraid. Unless you know different...

That link is sadly unavailable for me, even when logged in.

4566 will be double heading with 7714 on Jan 1st and 2nd, before bowing out for overhaul (or entry to the overhaul queue, at least!).

It's also been reported that it will be running the Christmas Lunch Train on the 23rd (vice 7714), likely its last solo run.

Loads of changes.

7714's failure scuppered the proposed double heading and 4566 was moved to the 7-coach AS4 instead.

4566 failed this morning with a plug issue, and the usual Herculean efforts have resulted in her being ready for AS3 the diner today (rather than AS4) which will carry a limited number of non-dining passengers. Credit to those on the Ops side too for this.

4566 will be flying solo on the AS4 service tomorrow and Monday.

At least, that's the current plan, I'm told!

7 minute video of 4566 shunting ecs and then departing with the Diner today. It blocked my shot of 43106 departing - better let it off under the circumstances I suppose, as it's finishing soon. Tomorrow is a wet day according to forecast, so only Monday left to see it again.

What I saw of 43106 at BN it was leaking steam from every joint. Is it all right?

"Safari Park curve" this afternoon, and sunshine!

Image cropped from a frame off the video.

The video, three other images from the video plus a link to my gallery showing it on November 28th 2006 on running in turns from Bridgnorth - see blog page:-

http://www.sharpos-world.co.uk/blog/?p=5886

It certainly looked and sounded good today.
