Comments on another forum indicate that this Gala was a great success with the diesel fraternity, and in particular they record their appreciation to the organiser and his team. The posters also record that they found the majority of SVR staff and volunteers friendly and helpful. One hopes we made a modest profit out of the three days patronage. It all helps to get revenue into the kitty!

I had a great two days down on the valley, it's just a real shame for me the weather didn't want to play ball after 2pm on Thursday, but the entertainment laid on by Scott and his team was excellent. 50026 just sounds fantastic, especially in Bewdley tunnel Smile, and the hydraulics looked and sounded great as well.
Numbers seemed good on Friday but less busy on Thursday. I do wonder if its worth running later on Thursday to encourage more people to stay over Thursday night? just a thought ...

Despite not going to some of my favourite locations as the completely flat light meant it just wasn't worth it, I managed to visit a few locations and my photography collection from Thu/Fri can be found here at http://www.flickr.com/photos/langtreephotography/sets/72157631703697406/

With the passenger numbers now available for both the steam and diesel galas a comparison between the profit from both events would be a interesting exercise. The budget for each event reflects the number of passengers projected to attend, in terms of pure profit which event makes the most money.
