The Bittern photo charter yesterday was a very good one. I went down to see it in the afternoon. They were due back at Bridgnorth at 5pm but arrived at 5:45pm! Bittern still has one charter left tomorrow and is on a charter today as well.

To be correct - the charter arrived back at about 18.20, but we then set off light engine to Kidder to turn 4464 to face the right way for Wednesday's charter and take a goods train from Kidder to Bewdley in readiness for Friday's charter. We finally arrived back on Bridgnorth MPD at about 21.40.

How did the run with 2857 go today? Does anyone know who was on the footplate of the old girl?

It went very well - especially when the sun came out this afternoon.

Kev and Dave were on the footplate and gave a number of sparkling performances!

Actually, Andy, great is a better discription. Once the sun came out the light was pretty good, the exhaust was prominent, the drivers very skilled, and the train, well, a GW goods engine on a GW goods train on a GW branch line - I don't think steam comes much better. The icing on the cake was having several rides on the verandah of a guards van including an exhilarating run from Bridgnorth to Bewdley. Thanks again, Matt - a brilliant day.
