The KWVR web site advises, in relation to its Autumn Steam Spectacular, 9th to 11th October, that
"The anticipated appearance of two ex-Southern Region locomotives has had to be cancelled due unforeseen restrictions currently in place on road access to the Railway. In the meantime the Railway is trying to source locomotives that could arrive on the Railway by rail"
So "SKP" will not be taking a holiday in Yorkshire.

Anyone know whether there is anything wrong with 34053? It was due to be in use today on AN1, but D1062 did the first round trip and 7812 took over the second.

In 2015 Sir Keith Park once again clocked up more than 100 operating days and ran over 8,000 miles on the Severn Valley Railway. After working some of the SVR Santas it will receive attention to the inside cylinder valves. During 2016 it's planned to make its first trips off the SVR. From January 29th to 31st it will be at the Great Central Railway Winter Gala and a few weeks later at the West Somerset Railway Spring Gala together with Manston.

She's following me, I'm planning to go to the GCR Winter Gala, weather permitting. Will a SVR crew be steaming her at the GCR?

How does this compare with the home fleet?

It is part of the home fleet - not sure what you mean?

The most up-to-date comparative numbers were in the last SVR News but I can't get to them at the moment I'm afraid

I thought it was hired in from Southern Locomotives Ltd?

yes it is, but it's a long-term hire; there aren't any plans for it to be based elsewhere; the agreement with the owners is similar to that in place with some other locos that you would certainly think of as 'home fleet'.
It's far from being my favourite loco [uses far too much coal and water for a start], but I don't think it's likely to go away any time soon!!

It is hired from SLL on a rolling year by year basis not long term.

A matter of semantics -- by some definitions, 'year by year' is fairly 'long term' !! It's not like the locos we hire in for the season, like we did with 73129 in 2014. But I certainly accept that it's not like most of the locos that have been on the SVR for the last 20 or more years!
