Below as well, it says:
Quote:
No. 1450 will be with us from mid March until late May 2013 and will additionally offer 'Footplate Experience' courses during this time.

Can't wait!

Fantastic news. There's very little that beats an auto train on the valley in my view. It will be interesting to see whether 1450 turns up with one trailer or two.

As for IFE work, I can see it being pretty cosy on the footplate of a 14xx!

If there are two trailers will 1450 be in the middle? If so the IFE participants will get the experience of remote control in both directions.

Pre-booked my accommodation in Bridgnorth shortly after the Autumn Gala. Haven't seen a 14xx in action since Steel, Steam & Stars 1 at Llangollen back in 2007.

Steam Railway out today mentions 1450 and autotrailers, also a return visit from the Llangollen 4MT tank, 34007 Wadebridge, and Ian Riley's recent acquisition, Jinty 47298.
I think Ivo Peter's car will also be present. Does that make it an S & D themed event? Wink
This info is not on the SVR website as yet, but dont shoot the messenger, its in Steam Railway.

This is a longstanding bugbear of mine and has happened before.

I would have expected the members/shareholders would get the info the same time, and not 5 days after the Steam Railway readers in W H Smith.

I thought the railway handled the "£1m" announcement carefully and well, radio silence to keep it out of Social Media followed by a simultaneous announcement to Press and members/shareholders. This, however, goes against the promises of better communication.

Grumpily,

Patrick

Couple of typos in the attractions at Bewdley.
