The Box Of Delights (1984) featured an SVR train hauled by loco 3205, Bewdley and Arley. Rich Coghill (Twitter @Boltonwanderer) has tweeted: "Does anybody still happen to work at the Station that was there in 1984 when filming took place?"

Cheers

Patrick

Were Ian Latimer, Alan Davies and Dave Thompson involved at that time? - they still are !

Had the cartographer made an error? Im sure I saw Bridgewater shown on the map where Bridgnorth should have been? Otherwise a nice journey from sea to river source.

There seems to be a Bridgewater in Shropshire, the one further south doesn't have the middle "e". I certainly didn't see the relevance of showing it on that map.

There is no Bridgewater in the UK, let alone Shropshire. There is Bridgwater in Somerset, and of course the Bridgewater Canal in Cheshire. There is no place in Shropshire of that name, although there is a pub (The Bridgewater Arms) in Harmer Hill and some street names in Wem and the north of the county. So if the cartographer put Bridgewater on any map of the UK as a place name, he was incorrect.

There was a Duke of Bridgewater who had links to Shropshire, was there a mention of him? I was only paying attention to the "railway" bits.

Yuk, it's one of those "sign in" type of sites. I'll have a look at the repeat next Saturday and see if I missed something.

There were several references to the Severn being the longest river in Britain .
Well, yes, as long as you take "Britain" to mean Great Britain, not the British Isles. A trivial point, but a programme about rivers ought to make it clear.

Also filming in Bewdley North signal box for the same show - presumably it covered a variety of railway roles.
