Seeking an update for the Wiki site. There are still 4 coaches under tarps outside the Carriage Shed. LMS 26921 is now at Bridgnorth. I assume the coach nearest Kidderminster is LMS 45048 Inspection Saloon. Can anyone positively ID the other 3?

Not a positive ID just based on what I was told before - 2119, 9615 and 4786. Can anyone confirm?

Yes I can confirm those are the 3 - 2119 is long overdue repair as is 9615 and the GW(SVR)A plans to restore 4786 after 2426.

Just out of interest, what year does the association envisage getting its hands on 2426?

When it has been released from Hampton Loade and has had a chance to dry out.

Thanks, thought as much. Hopefully we won't need it too much longer!

Thanks Mick, relevant details added to Wiki.

There are 6 other carriages mentioned in the VCT survey as being on the SVR, but not yet added to the Wiki. The details are:

BR 10677 Mk 3a Convertible Sleeper
BR 16169 Mk 1 Corridor Composite
BR 34606 Mk 1 Brake Corridor Second
BR 35467 Mk 1 Brake Corridor Second
GWR 2233 Hawksworth BTK, was overnight accommodation
LMS 31420 Gangwayed Full Brake

Links to the relevant VCT database pages on this Wiki page:
http://www.svrwiki.com/Carriages_to_be_confirmed

I haven't seen any of them on my travels up and down the line, Can anyone shed any light on where they are and their current status? (Carriage Shed, North Star Works or elsewhere?)

10677 is being/has been stripped down for spares and scrapped at Kidderminster.
16169 is not in the operational sets but sees very occasional use for schools etc. At Arley and suchlike. Paintwork very tired. Probably in Kidderminster Carriage Shed.
34606 is converted with roller shutter doors and is used on the Santa Grotto train.
35467 is one of the brake vehicles for set M, along with 35219.
2233 is the brown sleeper coach at Bewdley in the yard.
31420 is used for stores and very occasional photo charter work based at Kidderminster Carriage Works.

Would appreciate this all to be confirmed by someone more in the know, but hope it helps!

I have a copy of UK Preserved Coaches 2015 by ST Publications. That has 35479 at the SVR and 35467 at Crewe Heritage Centre. Everything else I look at has 35479 (chocolate & cream) as owned by Phil Swallow and registered as a support coach which appears to confirm that being the one sold. So has 35479 (Maroon), formerly owned by the 75069 Fund, gone to Crewe, or are ST Publications wrong? Questions, questions...

35479 is the coach behind 61306 on 14/02/15, see above page, 3rd photo down.

Going slightly off topic, would it be correct to say from the preceding details that the Railway is in the fortunate position of having only a relative handful of carriages which are still intended and requiring restoration?

On a related question, the latest video posted on the Diesel Shed forum shows some rather tired looking Maroon carriages being pulled from the carriage shed. I wonder therefore is the rolling maintenance program for the service rakes on track, or is that colour particularly susceptible to fading?
