What would it be used for - Permanent Way work like the class 9 diesel or would it operate passenger services with the other diesels on the full line services?
It was nice when we had the Class 14 diesel a few years back for the diesel gala! Cool
Also, it would stretch it's legs a bit as it only runs on a mile of track at the Royal Deeside Railway.

I suppose it would manage the A service short set quite nicely...and it would look right at home.

Just out of interest, why Bridgnorth?

Hope it's not simply going to be used as a slightly overpowered shunter.

Having had previous experience with these machines, they are fantastic in my humble opinion. Fantastic design, nice to operate and they will haul anything the SVR can throw at it.

Very shrewd acquisition.

@D9551 is a new Twitter account from which I've gleaned she was purchased by a group from SVR, underwent an examination at the Royal Deeside Railway on September 2nd, is likely to move to the SVR in early November and will be based at Bridgnorth. She has acquired the moniker "Angus".

Which would imply a crossover between them and the Western group?

The only issue I have come across with these locos is a reluctant reverser. This is only really a problem shunting buckeyes. You dont know if a pull of test has worked or if the reverser hasnt worked.
