Les Tappenden‎ reports it to be "not a bad run to be honest, couple of little snags presented themselves but nothing major"

A picture on Facebook shows D9551 with a Class 50 on tow on a test run again yesterday. Links to any viewable pictures would be welcome.

On the 'closed' Facebook page one group member has posted that the transmission governor has been stuck in first stage since D9551's arrival at the SVR, and remained so on test yesterday. In true volunteer fashion he has removed it to his garage and dismantled it. An 'O' ring or air seal which should seal the primary influence actuation cylinder shaft is missing, and two large blobs of silicone sealer were found to be jammed in the fill valve feed ports.

An earlier post shows a 'cow pat' of crud from out of the engine heat exchanger.

Whilst it was interesting to see 9551 running in Bridgnorth yard today, surely it is too new to star in a 1940s event?.
And which magazine is it shown in described as number 9533?

Isn't it about time the thread was renamed simply 'D9551'? D9551 for SVR? suggests it might be coming but its most certainly here!

Mine was the original post, so I have changed the thread name.

I was hoping the traffic notice was correct and D9551 would be on AS2 today, but the "locos in use" page showed D1015 - and that was the loco used.

So, any news on D9551? And is it worth reading a traffic notice?

Jonathan Dunster Facebook 3 hrs
Please note there will be two additional Class 50 SVR running days this season now on September 19/20 as D9551 is not yet ready for traffic. Usual weekday diagram 1145 from Kidderminster

The Web Round Up has news of D9551 summarised from their closed Facebook page

P.S. Further FB update - The aim now is to have further shake down runs in October and November, then complete modifications and finish the repaint early in the new year. The Group would rather it went into traffic completed and reliable for the 2017 season.
