Managed a couple of images whilst out clearing vegetation with the Permanent Way Department.
A very strange looking combination.

I have to say, I've never seen so many loco crews grinning as much as they were on that autotrain today...

The public also seemed to quite like it!

'Twas a crackin' day! Although it's very weird to be on the footplate on your own on a moving engine, a lot to think about from an 'Auto Fireman' perspective, thus the training days. Cannot wait till my next play with the ensemble Smile

What I cant get used to seeing is the driver on the oposite side. These days when you see a driving coach the driver is on the left. With the auto coaches they follow GW practice and the driver is on the right

A rather low quality both in style and pixellation of 1450 at Hampton Loade; I hope to upload a HD version shortly:

Spring was replaced on Sunday; loco now awaiting weighing, which I expect will be done sometime this week.

I hear 1450 has departed Bridgnorth this morning on its way to the West Somerset Railway, and that she is then due to return until the end of the year

It is subject to confirmation, but 1450 is provisionally allocated to work the Branch Line Society charter of the Valley Venturer starting from Bridgnorth on Sunday 2nd November. 12.50 from Bridgnorth, 2.45 from Kidderminster.

Does anyone know please?

A Severn Valley Railway website news item at the time of 1450's arrival at Bridgnorth on February 7th 2014 from the Dean Forest Railway said she "..visits us on loan courtesy of owner Mark Little. She will stay with us for the duration of the year. This locomotive was a very popular visitor during 2013 and it is our intention to use her during the Galas and at other times during 2014, along with two accompanying auto-coaches".

Is she staying for 2015 and, if so, is she now 'resident' and are the autocoaches staying as well?

Thanks

Patrick

On December 27th the Erlestoke Manor Fund chartered 1450 and the BR Auto Coach to thank the EMF working volunteers for their effort in 2014. Two round trips between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth were run with volunteers and families on both trips (EMF Facebook).
