Thank you Mick.

It was interesting to look back at the 650 pages to see it took four years from similar frameworks until its completion

Great to see the progress on this!

One question. The GWR was well known for the use of standard parts, especially with it's loco's. Is there similar standarsisation in the carriages, or do all the seat frames, corridor doors, etc, etc have to be made as bespoke items?

Thank you for your comments.

Of course the GW used a lot of standardisation. Most fittings were not changed within certain periods and we can use on several coaches.

But compartment decoration changed with what was in fashion although the GW were more conservative than others for example in keeping a door per compartment until 1934.

However the individual compartment dimensions did vary. The original first class were 7 ft 6 ins whereas 6045 is 7 ft 3 ins. The width varied between lot E127 and Lot E132 which explains why we have had to adjust the width of the first class seat backs. The compartment drawings were produced in 1926 but the seat widths varied. Luckily toilet doors and compartment sliding doors were all completely standard.

We will have to make quite a few fittings to be sufficient for all our bow enders. So any donations you can make will be essential so that we can continue to make fast progress.

A pre Christmas update has been posted showing further progress.

Most of the compartment side framework repairs have been completed. The corridor external partition is looking good especially the first class and the regulator cupboard has now been installed ready for the electrics to be progressed.
