Second playlist of videos is of 4 trains at Highley, which seemed much quieter than it normally is during a gala. Certainly didn't take long to edit & upload the videos.

All my filming on Saturday was at Bewdley, I'll start on that tomorrow.

Any news on "t'other side" as yet about Gala passenger numbers? Has to be good news, surely!

Given how long it usually takes to collect the information on tickets sold at stations, I'd imagine we'll be waiting a while yet...

Hmm, the NBI for the spring gala was released the Wednesday after the event so it might not be too long, hopefully by next week.

Lewis/Clare were quoted as saying

Quote:

early indications are that numbers have exceeded expectations – and from the busy platforms and trains throughout the event, we’re confident we will have overtaken last year’s figures

NBI today:

Quote:
Autumn Steam Gala:
I have had nothing but very positive comments regarding this Autumn’s Steam
Gala. The Gala committee this year, managed to arrange a super line up of
locomotives and somehow decent weather as well. The number crunching has
given a result of 7,300 passengers over the Preview day and three days of Gala, a
fantastic result.

Overtaken? Smashed more like, that's a 23.7% increase on last year.

It might have been released quickly but numbers from at least one non-EPOS station had not been submitted at that point.

Ah, I did wonder actually. I take it the numbers have been taken into account this time round?

The numbers from the non-EPOS station mentioned above were submitted on Tuesday; apart from that I don't know. Exact number or not however, its a very encouraging figure.
