25771 has almost finished its check over. Buffer heights adjusted and two horn guides needed taking off and the scale removed. 43612 is having a vacuum cylinder replaced. Next in will be 1855 whose wheelsets need re-profiling.

7511 is re-varnished and now the lining and gold leaf is being touched up.

I saw 25771 in service the other day, looks superb. Very nice to see it back in trains.

Hi Haynes_m,

I like reading through your reports but I am no good at picturing which coach is which just from the coach number. Is there any chance the design type could be mentioned, eg, BR Mk1 SO?

Thanks Reg.

Not a direct answer, but you should be able to look up any coach on the SVR Wiki, and I think all have a photo: http://www.svrwiki.com/Carriages

Work is continuing on both 52255 and 24506. Both are big jobs.
52255 exterior repairs have progressed well and work is starting on the interior which need quite a rebuild.
24506 vacuum cylinders ad now installed and operating and work is progressing with the brake rodding involving re-bushing and new pins.
Net week 27220 will enter the shop for a lift so that its bogies can go away for wheel turning.

Both major jobs are progressing well. 52255 is nearing the stage where it will be lining and varnishing, It will then replace 24506 which is reaching the final fitting work on the overhauled bogies.

4550 will then replace 52255 in the paint shop.
