Looking at the allocations, it's not just the 4TC set working the shuttle?

The 12.37 from Kidder gets into Bewdley at 12.48 but the shuttle from Bewdley departs at 12.44. Will that really work?

I see the link has now been changed to the timetable with loco allocations.

Those Bewdley shuttle departures I mentioned, it seems there are several timings where the departure is before the arrival of the shuttle from Kidderminster.

Also, the Bridgnorth arrivals at Kidderminster are 2 minutes before the shuttle departure - sounds a bit chaotic if hundreds off the arriving train rush to try and get on the shuttle? Two of the earlier trains from Bridgnorth cross with the shuttle in the loop outside the station, which is probably more normal working in a gala.

There will be two shuttle sets. The 4-TC replaces what would in previous galas be worked by the DMU.

I understand it will be the same as last year and be the non-dining part of set S.

Thanks, so one arrives at Platform 1 at Bewdley and the other departs as soon as the signalman has set the road. At least the timetable shows there should NOT be a connection, but if the arrival is early I'm sure somebody will try and leg it over the bridge??

If it makes you feel any better, it seems that (for once) no one else on the internet knows - several others have been asking.

on Twitter today from Severn Valley Railway Official Site:

It is with regret we have to announce the withdrawal of Class 26 No. 26007 and Class 40 No. D213 from the Spring Diesel Festival, due to reasons beyond the SVR's control.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate this will come as a disappointment to many.

The timetable with locomotive allocations will be updated soon in light of this.

But, the spectacular show must go on! We cannot wait for the remaining 12 visiting locomotives and up to 8 home-fleet engines to be in action from May 19th - 21st.
----------------------------------------------------------
Despite some setbacks, our Spring Diesel Festival is full of surprises!

Class 55 Deltic No. 55019 Royal Highland Fusilier, which is visiting the Railway for Footplate Experience use, will now be appearing at our Spring Diesel Festival on Friday and Saturday.

Furthermore, Class 20s No. 20142 and 20205 will be operating an additional day on the Thursday of the event.

Plus, a Chiltern Railways Class 68 will also be on display during the Festival!

Changes to the timetable with locomotive allocations will follow soon...

Oh dear - bit of a farce really; this has REALLY upset numerous people on a few other forums and regardless of blame, reflects quite poorly on the railway.

Not sure why it should reflect "quite poorly" on the railway, unless these hirings were cancelled by the railway. If the reason is because of unavailability or other technical issues (which I would guess is the case, given the short notice) then that is unfortunate, but hardly something that can be blamed on the railway.

I know many of us are quick to criticise the railway, but in fairness when it's not the railway's fault, then we should be supporting it.

I've noticed the following working to Kidderminster on Monday 16 May. Is this to do with the gala? http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U75128/2016/05/16/advanced

The hirings were cancelled by the railway judging by the information available. It also seems to have become common knowledge that the 40 is fully operable, which rules out technical issues.
From what is being said on social media and other forums, the issue is/was a disagreement between the loco owner and the railway - an issue that clearly proved unresolveable and resulted in the news, issued this morning, of the class 40 and the class 26 having been withdrawn from the gala.

Sadly, whilst I acknowledge that the 'subject to availability' clause comes into play, the absence of much information combined with the fact that what little information IS available seems to suggest that the issue was a disagreement between the loco owner and the railway, people are generally (and, sadly, naturally) jumping to conclusions.
