And a comment posted on the unofficial FB group states that she has passed her steam insurance test.

Any recent news as to progress with running in please?

I have checked around the various" outlets" that I can access, but cannot see anything recent. Maybe it's all on social media somewhere.

Thanks

Running-in does not necessarily commence the instant the steam test is done. There is still work to be done. That said, TV moved under its own steam for the first time this afternoon, spending an hour or more moving about the yard and station.

Taw Valley in steam!
The highly anticipated first moves of No. 34027 Taw Valley took place today at Bridgnorth.
The locomotive is hoped to be ready in time to haul 'The Golden Jubilee Pullman' on Saturday 16th May...so, fingers crossed!

Sister to resident No. 34053 Sir Keith Park, Taw Valley has been out of service for 9 years, and its return will provide the tantalising sight of two Bulleid Pacifics operating along the Severn Valley Railway in the not too distant future.

I did wonder whether that bullied whistle echoing around Bridgnorth this afternoon was Taw Valley!

Great to see her on the way back. Just a quick question about the Pullman trip, I thought the Pullman set is air braked so how will Taw Valley be able to work it?

She's got air brakes, the pipes can clearly be seen in the last of the pictures posted above as well as a couple of others.

One may therefore presume that a portion of the recent engineering activity may be interpreted as "many hands to the pump" - the air pump. Smile

For backup we've got a perfectly good air-brake fitted loco in the Engine House. Just needs a quick restoration job. Wink

Robin

Come, come.
Since when did we ever get a "quick" restoration job. I am led to believe that the restoration of that loco is likely to take 3 or 4 years - once started.

GW2 set is being moved to Bridgnorth on evening of Sunday 10th May so that some loaded test runs can be done with TV during the following week.
