The Traffic Notice http://www.svrlive.com/Documents/WTT%202015-05-11%20Mon.pdf shows two return test runs Mon-Thursday this week.

As noted above, the GW2 coach set is being moved to Bridgnorth this evening so loaded test runs can be done with Taw Valley during the week.

73952 is also on the SVR for testing.

Otherwise it's table A service with 2857, 43106 and D8059. 34053 comes out to play on Friday with 43106 doing Footplate Experience runs.

Sad news reported elsewhere that the previous owner of 34027, Bert Hitchen, has passed away.

Report showed that he sadly died in hospital yesterday.
34027 is very appropriately carrying a wreath today -- https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CE9RTjJWAAA36wP.jpg:large

Certainly was sad news to hear about Bert Hitchen.

On a brighter note, I'm pleased to see 34027 is running today after it didn't run in its afternoon slot back to Bridgnorth yesterday. I had hoped to get a video of it with the test train working, as in the morning it only ran as far as the loop by the carriage shed and not to one of the platform roads, so all I filmed was the loco running round. Not to worry though, I'm sure I'll get plenty of videos of it hauling trains in the future.

The link below shows it at Kidderminster on Wednesday morning:-

This week just keeps getting better and better..
After 9 years out of action, No. 34027 Taw Valley will re-enter public service this weekend!!
'The Golden Jubilee Pullman' will be the first train the locomotive hauls, followed by a weekend of SVR services.
Plus No. 34053 Sir Keith Park will be in action too, so we have two Bulleid pacifics in steam...you don't see that everyday!
What a weekend we have to look forward to!!

The highly anticipated first moves of No. 34027 Taw Valley took place at Bridgnorth recently, followed by a number of successful loaded test runs, resulting in the locomotive returning to public service this weekend.

The locomotive will haul 'The Golden Jubilee Pullman' on Saturday 16th May, its first train in 9 years.

Whilst not planned the weekend was spent on the SVR , seeing the Pullmans yesterday and sampling 34027 today

She looks superb and even the addition of the crest enhances the look . Seeing 34053 passing 34027 at Bewdley today was something else and the delight ( ! ) that the SVR in turning out two Bulleid pacifics is actually more than the "Southern" railways (Swanage, Bluebell and Mid Hants) do

Congratulations all round

A change to the rostered steam engines for Friday, ex-SR Bulleid Pacifics 'Sir Keith Park' and 'Taw Valley' share the duties, plus heritage diesel 'Western Courier'. On Footplate Experience duty is 'Erlestoke Manor' http://www.svr.co.uk/MeetTheLoco.aspx?id=105

(2857 is replaced, TV now runs)

I wonder how much more coal we use for a day's work when both Pacifics are in use?
43106 is presumably being prep'd for its' visit to the GCR.

L/H trailing tender axlebox. the pad had failed to lubricate the journal so it'd run hot. examined at bewdley yesterday morning and with a little work was allowed to run on the back of 1.00 ex kidder. checks taking place at intermediate stations to make sure it wasn't running too hot. action planned i believe will be axle out, and some work on the journal, not a lot though and remetalling the bearing

Any info on why 2857 was on BS1 today instead of Taw Valley?
