Mentioned here rather than starting a separate thread for SVRLive. Please move to a new thread if preferred.

The SVRLive Guarantee Board page is rather out of date. Kevin Cronin resigned in April 2014, Alan Davies and Stephen White were appointed in the same year.

I discussed with Bill Griffiths recently about a spring clean as I pointed out several out of date pages, but the site is due to be replaced. I'm seeing him next week and will try and remember to mention it

There has to be willingness by people in authority to actually update sites such as SVRLive.
No point in having a revamped site if no-one takes the time to update it regularly.
I recall coming into the Summer season and the site still showed the General Manager's roundup for October-December 2014. Does he just "forget" to write an update? There has also been a diesel depot update in SVR News that was more uptodate than what was on SVR Live. Current diesel depot update on SVRLive if for August.

As has been said many times before, other heritage operations can do it, so why not the SVR?

A glimpse of the future...
We’ve been working on a new SVRLive - with some of the old favourites, and some new features. It's not quite ready to go live yet, but we think you'd like to have a look - and let us know how we're getting on. During the development period it's over at http://svrlive.wix.com/svrlive . Come on over and give it a try!

Edited, thanks.

It was a copy and paste, I'd again omitted to check as this forum won't accept a URL followed by a full stop

Patrick: A revamped website is welcome, but does this mean it will be kept uptodate?
On the current SVRLive for instance the last update on a major project--the diesel depot-- is August 2015. (or indeed even earlier if you look at the Charitable Trust website).

A new website is one thing, but the will of people to update it is quite another.

"The site needed to change it's direction"

On the new SVRLive home page, get rid of the apostrophe?

Is the new SVRLive website now the official version? We currently have the situation where the new site says "The old one is still available..." but the old one says "the new site is ... not quite ready to go live yet".

On the new site, in addition to Sharpo's request for "it's" on the home page to be corrected, a couple of other typos:

Feedback form: "It's important for us to get an idea of what information users want to see on thi site"

News item on 7690: "More 'Charirable Trust' stories"

I believe the switchover is imminent. I don't have access and cannnot make changes (though I hope I will have). There's a feedback button

Cheers

I had a meeting with Bill Griffiths around SVRLive which, if things work as planned, should start to see contributors adding more news items to the new SVRLive site in the very near future.

Bewdley and the very much out of date Arley station websites are in the process of being migrated over and you will see there are new pages.

The very much out of date SVREngineering website will also be migrated over.

Express Points you may have seen will go over to electronic only from January which, together with the migration of news items being added in real time, may mean that the web round up is folded into these.

In short, there is expected to be progress. Watch that space!

Patrick
