May be an odd question, on some carriages seats gave head covers particularly in first class. They might have companies initials on e,g. LNER.

Anybody know where they can be purchased from where does the railway get them from?

Cheers ☺️

The corect term is "antimacassers". Before hair gel in victorian times gentlemen slicked their hair with macassa oil. To avoid stains on furniture a cloth was used, an antimacasser.

No idea where the railway gets them unfortunately. There are probably specialist supplyers out there

The ones for GNR2701 where made by the wife of one of the LNER SVR Coach Fund and the embroidering by a local firm.

I don't know of any commercial suppliers

The Cross Country ones are, or they might better be described as tissue. Disposable anyway which is probably the point.
