Hopefully we will need this new topic soon, with- presumably- the imminent arrival of 46100 from Crewe for running in. Anyone heard anything "on the grapevine"? (No posts at all on the SVREngineering Twitter feed during August....)
The Royal Scot Locomotive & General Trust website ("icons of steam") does mention that full details of the test schedule once 46100 is safely on SVR metals, will be published jointly by them and the SVR when finalised.

As an aside, I wonder how often the SVR has been used for running in a non-SVR loco? There was the Met tank a while ago, and more recently the electro-diesel class 73/9, but going back further in time 5080 "Defiant" and 5593 "Kolhapur" both visited the SVR in March 1988 for each to complete a 1000-mile running in programme following bearing overheating problems previously experienced by both locomotives. The May 1988 issue of "Steam Railway" has a photo of 5080 leaving Eardington with two ballast hoppers in tow, bound for Highley. P-Way superpower!

I have elected to start a new topic for 46100, rather than clutter up the Autumn Steam Gala topic. Hope this is OK?

Rob

Internal site is showing "Delays of 15 minutes due to mechanical issue on 46100" and there's photos of swarms of men in overalls poking it at Bridgnorth, so presumably it sat down and had a grumble somewhere.

A picture on FB shows it got at least as far as Highley but it was being shunted around Bridgnorth by the 08 around 2 pm.

Royal Scot arrived at Bewdley at 10;10 this morning. I do not know if there were problems with it or if it arrived at Kidderminster, or if it returned from Bewdley to Bridgnorth.

I left Kidder at 10.40, soon after the service train had left. No sign of it by that time.
