Filmed the Scot departing from Kidder this morning. I've grabbed a frame from the video and added it to my blog. The image will come out larger if you click on it. It's easier & quicker than putting it in my gallery - part of a winter project, but the winters never seem long enough!!!

EDIT - just added another shot of the Scot as it was running round, with 43106 passing by

Does anyone know whether it'll still be there on Saturday?

Presumably the rumours about it leaving straight for mainline service were somewhat exaggerated!

Perhaps not too surprising, as I imagine a number of examinations and certifications need to be done before NR will touch it.

With the support coach at Bridgnorth, I was guessing it would eventually have test runs with support coach on the main line from Kidderminster and finally returning to Crewe by rail. Otherwise it seems a waste to have brought the coach to Bridgnorth by road if it has to return the same way.

The coach might have been to provide accommodation to the 6100 people who, I believe, were with it the whole time it was at Bridgnorth.

And of course it would be able to hold all their tools, spares and kit

Having spoken to the support crew last weekend, I can confirm that the plan is for it to leave on the mainline. I believe it has already had 50mph test runs between Bewdley and Kidder this week.

I'd be a bit surprised if it has been, given that I've not seen the required warning notice to staff and lineside photographers regarding trains running at enhanced line speed.

So I saw yesterday. However, a big red rail crane was in the way to get a good photo. Anyway there's plenty of life in the Royal Scot, so hopefully in future years I'll get to meet her again.
