I'm confused.
On Friday & Saturday the autotrain leaves Kidderminster at 09:20 and gets to Highley at 10:00.
It's next scheduled trip is Arley at 11:05 to Bewdley at 11:18.
Presumably, at some time between 10:00 and 11:05 it travels from Highley to Arley without passengers? Have I got that right?
And again, between 12:11 and 12:39 it travels from Arley to Hampton Loade without passengers?

There's a few other oddities as well, like 1501 arriving at Highley with the local service at 11:13, then next appearing at Arley at 13:23.

It seems a bit odd to be running empty trains on a busy weekend, or are there some private charters that are not shown on the public timetable?

It's happened at previous galas tbf.

Trains at galas often have to go into the loop at Highley, so can't carry passengers between Hampton and Arley.

Thanks, now that you mention it, it does all seem to be centred on Highley.
Presumably the 10:00 arrival gets shunted in to the loop and there isn't then an opportunity between the 10:15 and 10:48 departures to get it back to the platform and load for Arley.
Similarly, the 12:11 arrival at Arley must cross 6990 at Highley at 12:25.

It also means that the train is cleared of 'seat hoggers', giving an opportunity for other fare payers to enjoy the delights of small train running.

Thanks sharpo, I had read this, what puzzled me was the exceptions in brackets does that just refere to the one loco before the brackets?

Its 6990, as signified by the info in brackets being after 6990 and between the commas separating that number from the others.

Thanks for that I see now I've looked more carefully.

It would be a busy Sunday lunchtime if five locomotives were due to be turned at once. Very Happy
