That's one way as well. The 4150 Fund charged 35 for a round trip.
I've got a meeting tomorrow to try to sort out the GWR 813 Fund brake van rides. Once I know the cost to the fund and the number of seats available, I can set a price. At the moment, we've only discussed it as a one off. If we can keep the price low enough to sell enough tickets though, I'd run it every month.

Will the WTT be available to purchase for this event?

Is 60163 coming just for the Gala, or is it here for some other reason?

I thought this was to be a smaller engine/mixed traffic gala, so why do we have to have a Pacific running?

Anyway, subject to there actually being a sensible rail service to get me to KDR from HFD, ( Bromsgrove blockade and all that...) I'm coming on Friday for the Crab. Last time I rode behind a Crab would be out of Sheffield on a local train, early 1960's.

(7714 unlikely now?)

My understanding is that 60163 will be coming to Bridgnorth to use the wheeldrop in exchange for its use over the weekend.

Various comments on Facebook give the impression that those "in the know" are optimistic about it attending. However, as I find is almost always the case with loco overhauls, there's been very little in terms of actual details, other than the photos from the paint shop!

Edit: I've also now seen comments saying it's unlikely to be ready. Isn't this exciting? Wink

I suppose I would be called cynical if I wondered whether running in steam trials could have taken place before 7714 entered the paint shop.
It might then have run next weekend even if unpainted.

Still, suspense! Lets wait and see.

Re WTT:

"As I'm sure you are aware there have been a number of unknown items around this gala which has delayed the issue of the WTT. This will be issued tomorrow lunch time".

Patrick

EDIT: I can't see that a WTT has been issued 2/11/16 22:11. I will be away until 4/11/16 so will not be able to load it before the event

Does anyone know when Tornado will be arriving? Nothing appearing on RTT yet as far as I can see.

It's scheduled to work the Belmond Pullman from and to London [Victoria] on Friday, so presumably straight after that if it's to be on the SVR on Saturday morning.

update 1620 2/11: Operating Instructions just issued by the Ops Manager say "The locomotive will arrive late Friday evening and be stabled on the mainline exchange."

Announced this evening .....

Season Finale Gala - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Due to damage caused to signalling cable this afternoon, an amended timetable will be in operation tomorrow, Friday 4th November.

The amended timetable will feature visiting locomotives No. 13065 and No. 4270, supported by No. 813, No. 4566, No. 7812 Erlestoke Manor & No. 1450 on Autotrains. We are aware this will cause disappointment, but the amended timetable will still provide a mix of locomotives, double-heading, full line and local services.

It is anticipated that the Gala timetable for Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th November will be in operation as advertised.

Since we were notified of the damage, staff have been working hard to fix it. However, due to the nature of the fault, we are unable to confirm when it will be fixed tomorrow, and have therefore had to alter the timetable.

We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.

The amended timetable will be published shortly.

it means pilotman working between Highley and Bridgnorth, with trains not able to pass at Hampton. Updates should be on svr website soon.
