To commemorate the 100th and 75th anniversaries of HMS Hood, we will be rededicating diesel locomotive No. D431/50031 Hood at midday on Saturday 17th September at Kidderminster Station.

Following the rededication, the locomotive will work the 1.30pm train from Kidderminster and 3.40pm from Bridgnorth (normal fares apply).

Order of Service (Hood Association on FB)
11.45 Meet under the canopy on the Severn Valley Railway Station at Kidderminster.
12.00 Sea Cadet Guard of Honour. Dignitaries progress to Platform 2.
12.05 Welcome - Jonathan Dunster, Director of The Severn Valley Railway and Class 50 Alliance.
12.10 In memory of HMS Hood and her crew - Philip Wil-cocks, President of the HMS Hood Association.
12.15 Service of Thanks and Remembrance - Theresa Day, Chaplain.
12.25 Unveiling of the Hood Crest on 50031. Bugler (Heidi Worth) to play the Last Post. A Blessing (Theresa Day)
12.30 Concluding Remarks - Jonathan Dunster.
12.35 - 12.55 Locomotive 50031 open for cab visits.
13.08 Ark Royal arrives on the adjacent Platform 1.
13.30 50031 Hood departs at the head of a train to Bridgnorth.
15.20 Presentation of the Admiral Holland Sign.
16.47 Arrival back at Kidderminster.

Any Hood Association members going to the event can get reduced price tickets for the return trip from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth - See Bob Dunn under canopy at Kidderminster station (bypass the ticket office).
