I hadn't noticed that seems odd, maybe it will reserve engine.

Rather cryptically they announced that the first guest engine to be announced next month is black, well by my reckoning 80% of suitable engines are black so that isn't much of a clue. Very Happy Very Happy

It would be amazing if the reserve engine was known so far in advance, given that the final WTT and loco allocations for the upcoming gala have yet to be sent out!

However, 7802 has now appeared on the list, presumably someone with website access having noticed that a home fleet loco was missing.

Pete
Are you getting knickers twisted.? I think your info applies to the November 16 gala - unless I've misread it.

From the SVR web site:

Spring Steam Gala

Opening our 2017 season, a great line-up of visiting locomotives supported by members of the Severn Valley Railway home fleet. A tantalising festival of locomotives large and small!

A great event for all the family; come along and get up close to an array of exciting steam locomotives whilst experiencing a slice of railway history, then jump on board a comfy carriage and prepare to venture back in time!

The Gala will see a number of visiting locomotives journeying to the Railway, details of which will be announced shortly.

Visiting locomotives:

With thanks to Mid-Hants Railway & John Jones

No. 34081 92 Squadron - appearing in un-named condition

Further visiting locomotives to be announced shortly.

The fantastic selection of visiting locomotives will be supported by members of our home fleet, including:

No. 7812 Erlestoke Manor,
No. 34027 Taw Valley,
No. 34053 Sir Keith Park, and,
No. 43106

Also visiting is BR Standard 9F No. 92214 - one of the most powerful steam locomotives in Britain, something of an S&D theme though I am not sure how 34081 92 Squadron is S&D.

One for the publication department I think.

I have seen an email style leaflet advertising the Spring gala. The photograph on the leaflet shows 41312 with a train of green type SR coaches and gives me the impression this can all be seen at the gala?

Q. Will 41312 and the SR coaches be on the SVR? If so really good. If the answer is no, as I would guess, then is the advert possibly misleading?

I suppose it is too late to do much now but worth considering for future leaflets that are emailed out?

Does the compiler of the timetable for the Gala bother to look at the arrival times at Kidderminster of early morning London Midland trains from Birmingham on a Saturday? Whilst there are plenty of trains on a Friday, the early morning trains on a Saturday are sparse. One arrives at 08-30, the same time as a full line departure on the SVR. The next London Midland train arrives at
09-33 giving just seven minutes to get the 09-40 departure on the SVR.
Common sense tells me that there should be a fifteen minute difference written in to the departure times of SVR trains to enable customers arriving on London Midland trains to get to Kidderminster SVR station and onto the trains comfortably.

Looking at the Spring Gala Timetable is the 12:45 from Kidderminster the Severn Valley Limited?
