I don't go to Arley so often these days but arrived just in time to see 33108 arrive & depart.

It's good to see, and hear, these visiting locos in action ahead of the gala. If you want the video, the 33 is at the beginning - you can always end it when 34027 and 7802 appear.

I like the sound of sulzer engines, class 33 built just up the road at Smethwick, the only 8 cylinder version of the LDA28 engine in a BR loco, it's two thirds a peak . LOL.

I like 45060 with the split headcode best.

Video of 56303 with the air-braked stock for the gala heading north towards the footbridge, then at Kidderminster station as it returns after having run round at Stourbridge. Too long a train to reverse at Kidderminster? Class 56 no longer allowed through Old Hill? Various reasons were given for this as we waited for the train.

Couple of photos will be ready for later today.

Couple of photos from the video:-

Oh, and if you haven't watched the video - there is a glimpse of 33108 on the "weed killer" train. More of that to come later, plus the Deltic on the service train yesterday.

Convoy from Princess Risborough ran to Bescot today, video filmed at Dorridge. 7 locos - nice!

https://youtu.be/ZfmVACEZ1u0

EDIT - for those of you who don't watch videos, I've added 6 photos of the convoy to my blog rather than clog up this topic. Not brilliant quality of course, as from the video.

Dear Sharpo, thanks, I like the video.
If the train was intended for Kidderminster do you know why it was diverted to Bescot?

Thanks Reg. It was about an hour late leaving, a brake problem was mentioned in the post I read elsewhere.

Odd thing is that it was shown on RealtimeTrains as scheduled to leave Princes Risborough at 1350, but that it was then cancelled. And I can't see any sign of it on RTT as having run at all!

Apparently a VSTP won't show on RTT at the moment, and hasn't done for weeks.

Page 25 of the brochure "...considering none of our diesels are younger than 50 years old now!". Apart from the Class 50s built in 1968 of course. Wink

It's worth noting as well that the Bewdley Ruston has been painted and signwritten within the last week or so, after the brochure went to press, and really looks smart now, a lot better than it does in that photo.
