http://www.svr.co.uk/Fares.aspx

Local Residents Railcard - "under 4ís travel free".

I know it could be argued that the word travel is being used as a noun, and this is a contraction of "The travel of persons under 4 is free", just as "Dinner for persons under 4 is free" could be contracted to "under 4's dinners free", in which case the apostrophe is correct, however "Children's travel free" would sound completely wrong, so I'd go with "under 4s travel free"

In short, it's a greengrocer's apostrophe. Wink

More queries on the Fares page please.

Apostrophes:
Local Residents' Railcard and "senior citizens' rates", please

These look wrong:
"Please allow 10 days for the delivery".
"So e.g."

Hyphens:
"Less-able" and "on-the-day" shouldn't be hyphenated, IMO
I think "12 month" should be but that might now be an anachronism.

Misspell:
traveling

Contradiction:
"The following first class fares apply per SINGLE end-to-end journey. There are no reductions for short journeys. This supplement allows UNLIMITED first class travel in that direction for the day..."

Hyperlinks:
Should not references to Special Events, Group Travel and Education etc. pages be hyperlinked?

Thank you

Patrick

Admission to The Engine House, Highley
Entrance into Arley Arboretum

Pete - http://www.svr.co.uk/privacypolicy.aspx

The privacy policy refers to "The Trust's website...". Maybe "Our website..." instead?

Would it be worth adding a news item to point to the Festive Season Services?

I think this news item is out of date http://www.svr.co.uk/NewsItem.aspx?a=762 . It seems to have been written for the pre-Christmas period

Regards

Patrick

It's not out of date; the pre-Christmas bits of it were removed on Christmas Day. It will be further updated after Jan 2nd.
