A change of loco during the last outing, 57301 and 57303 brought the ecs back.

I quote from FB and so it is unconfirmed, but I've no reason to doubt it:

"The 57's are taking the Belle stock down to Eastleigh for summer maintenance."

Does the Northern Belle train ever take time out and have a sort of 'close season', like fishing and football, or is it an all year round operation? I am guessing both the train itself and the staff need time to recuperate?
Dear All, could the "summer maintenance" mentioned by Patrick be a type of close season I was enquiring about?

Looking at dates it is out on 16th July then not again until 4th August, so this is just a short break for it. Unless of course there are trips other than those listed on their site.

It seems the locos (and stock?) went to Northam carriage servicing depot today. A search indicates there is a wheel lathe there, so possibly the reason for the visit?

No sign of any move or schedule for tomorrow's train. However there is a schedule this Thursday from Kidderminster for a Victoria-Ormskirk, not in the STN on svrlive.

68025/28 through Old Hill 21.24 to Kidder.

It didn't show on RTT but ecs from Eastleigh did run, arriving about 19.42 - probably with 57301 and 57303. So looks like a change of locos.

Away from SVR at 23.40 and up the Dark Side to Victoria. I made do with seeing the 68s earlier in the evening, bit too late to go and see the ecs move.
