I've just seen on FB that the K&C is closed until further notice due to staff resignations. Is there sufficient time to get replacements before this coming w/e?

Out of interest, where on FB? I can't find anything after a quick glance on the Official page or the Unofficial group (and I'd expect the latter to contain lots of upset if they heard the pub's closed!).

Edit: Found the following on the K&C's own page:

Quote:
Due to a staff shortage we have had to amend our opening times for the next few days as followed.

Wednesday 22nd 5pm til 11pm
Thursday 23rd 3pm til 11pm
Friday 24th 3pm til 11pm
Saturday 25th Noon til 11pm
Sunday 26th noon til 10.30pm

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused

Should this have been posted in the General Forum rather than Special Events?

Notice board Issue this afto from the GM.

You may be aware that a number of key staff at the King and Castle bar have resigned with immediate effect.
The Company respects the confidentiality of all our employees and therefore is unable to divulge reasons for the resignations or comment on individual cases. However, we are aware that you may know the staff involved and be naturally concerned about their wellbeing.
We are working hard to restore a full staff compliment at the King and Castle as soon as we possibly can.

We await developments with interest!!

Let's all hope that "working hard" also addresses the unusual occurrence of so many resignations simultaneously.

How is that connected to the simultaneous resignations? Whilst I might question that choice of colour for a GW styled refreshment room I doubt that would be the reason, Going further, one might ask was such a change referred to the C&H committee?

Sorry, it's not magnolia, it's white all over, Deffo looks a bit strange. Probably just a coincidence.

Ta

It was the 'soft' information that interested me:

We’ve identified a number of areas we can develop...These include products, pricing, trading times, environment and service...the King and Castle bar [...] has great potential.

Hopefully the new staff will give the place more of a feel of a welcoming pub like the railwayman's rather than a rough boozer that the K&C used to.
