Is anyone else getting a message "this login is not secure" which directs to another menu. Being suspicious I took the view that the new login method is more likely to be a trojan than the normal method

It's something to do with the site security. The more secure sites use https but this forum is just http.

As long as you don't use the same log in details for banking or other similar financial type sites then it shouldn't worry you. It apparently means "snoopers" could find out what your log in details are when using just an http site.

Not a true technical answer, just the way I understand it!

It shows in Chrome as well, the "circled i" before the url. Click on the "i" and it will say - "your connection to this site is not secure". Google now lowering rankings of http sites in their search engine, favouring https ones.

A number of security things changed with Firefox 52; now on 53, and still the same; not sure about other browsers.
Biggest pain introduced with Firefox 52 is not being able to paste from Word docs in the svr.co.uk admin system.
