The useful ‘Red, Amber, Green’ seat availability summary for the Christmas train services is now viewable on http://www.svr.co.uk/NewsItem.aspx?a=503

Covers the Santa Steam Specials: Santa Heralds; Santa Sleigh Express and Carol Trains.

This has been available since bookings opened in August - it gets updated every few days as things change.

No Santa Specials shown 'red' [full] yet, as in order to spread the load between trains, trains are being taken off the online booking system at present when bookings reach 300 or so -- 'red' would be for 350. This will change as and when trains get fuller! Amber normally means between 250 and 350.

This is 'new red', under 50 remaining, as opposed to 'old red', in previous years was advertised as sold out.

So, following the pattern, 'sold out' will have to be infra-red.
